An Ontario Beach Road Trip by RV

Freshwater dunes, warm shallow bays and big-lake sunsets. Ontario's best beaches make a perfect summer RV loop.
Ontario has more freshwater coastline than many countries, and its beaches range from long sandy strands to rocky coves on the Canadian Shield. An RV lets you link several of them into one relaxed summer trip.
Sandbanks Provincial Park
In Prince Edward County on Lake Ontario, Sandbanks is famous for its tall freshwater dunes and gentle, shallow water. Campgrounds fill fast in summer, so reserve as early as booking opens. Wineries and farm stands in the county make good side trips.

Wasaga Beach
On Georgian Bay, Wasaga Beach is one of the longest freshwater beaches in the world. Private RV parks nearby offer full hookups. The water is warm and shallow, ideal for families.
Pinery Provincial Park
Near Grand Bend on Lake Huron, Pinery combines a long sandy beach with oak savanna forest and spectacular sunsets. Large campgrounds include electrical sites and space for bigger rigs.

Sauble Beach
On the Bruce Peninsula, Sauble Beach draws crowds for its long stretch of sand and lively summer atmosphere. Continue north to the Bruce Peninsula's cliffs and turquoise water.
Long Point
On Lake Erie, Long Point's sandspit and quiet beaches are a birding hotspot. The park has campgrounds right behind the dunes.
Trip tips
